Best Makeup Drugstore Kit!

Best Makeup Drugstore Kit!

Best Drugstore Makeup Kit! Best Drugstore Makeup Kit! by lydia11-11 featuring Wet n Wild

Hey y’all! Now that school is up and running again I wanted to give you guys a suggestion for a kit to help you get ready in the morning on the cheap. All of these will be really easy to find in the States and are drugstore products. This will work not only for students but for anyone lining for a basic makeup kit. The products listed below will help you create a natural, no makeup makeup look for your average day.

Cases and Accessories:

Some great cases are at Ulta, Forever 21, Kohl’s and Shopko for cheap and they’re also reasonably sturdy. Modella is a great brand with lots of different price points, but don’t feel like you have to invest in a bag. You can definitely use something at home or just toss your products in your purse on the go. If you need a mirror try Forever 21, Burlington or Shopko. ELF and Ecotools after have great brushes, and you can get some knock-off Beauty Blenders.

Post Breakup Makeup (and Pampering)

Post Breakup Makeup (and Pampering)

breakups1-600x310

Breakups are hard. There are thousands of songs about how much love can suck.

My ex and I broke up about a week ago. We met at the musical theater intensive I was involved in over the summer and he was my first real relationship. Long distance relationships are hard, and it was time for ours to come to an end. I look forward to meeting someone new who will treat me right.

Easier said than done, right? Breakups are hard for both parties, and this transitory stage has to be handled in a healthy way. My breakup sophomore absolutely destroyed me, but channeling your grief into taking care of yourself will help you move onto a new chapter in your life. I hope that my tips can give you some solace. Know that if you need someone to talk I’m always here for my readers.

Gaijiin Gyaru Guide!

Gaijiin Gyaru Guide!

saiharii gyaru
The amazing gaijiin gyaru, Saiharii!

Hey there guys! Since so many of you have enjoyed reading my gyaru guide, I wanted to add a guide for gaijiin gyaru.

I wanted to start out by telling you all how I attained my knowledge on gyaru. I have been to Korea but not to Japan, so I don’t have first hand information about gyaru. However, I’ve studied Japanese and Japanese culture since I was about 13 years old. I’ve done numerous research projects on gyaru and I have a great deal of knowledge about gyaru. It can be really hard to find information on gyaru in the States and it can be even harder to be involved, so I wanted to write this post especially for non-Japanese gyaru. I hope you find this helpful!

Skinfood Tomato Cool Jelly Tint Review

Skinfood Tomato Cool Jelly Tint Review

tomato tint 1

Hi there everyone! My latest find was the Tomato Cool Jelly Tint from Skinfood. As some of you probably know by now I have a bb cream and lip tint addiction so I have to try everything.

Note: When I use lip tints, the color always concentrates more on the weird inner patches of my lips and stains my bottom lip more than my top lip. This may not be the same for you so keep that in mind!

Overview:

I bought this tint on eBay for $5.44 in the shade Berry Tomato. It’s a natural looking rosy pink color that can be layered for a deeper stain. I purchased mine here but you can also get it here.

As part of my widely-read gyaru guide, I wanted to include some examples of gyaru style and makeup to help give all of you love readers some ideas for your new style adventure. Click here for part one of the series and here for part two if you haven’t read them yet!

Clothing:

There are a multitude of gyaru subtypes that are popular, and this set only addresses a few. Some common types are above. A lot of gyaru looks are meant to be sweet- light pinks, bows, flowy blouses and tiers are common, especially in the hime and onee gyaru style. Kogal (or kogyaru) was the first main gyaru type and is characterized by customizing a school uniform. Rokku gyaru is an edgier, rock-inspired look and mode originated as a monochromatic and mature look. Keeping these descriptions in mind, it’s just a matter of personal taste and experimentation before you create an outfit like the ones above! Google (of course) and gyaru forums are also great for inspo.

Worst. year. to. be. in. school. ever. (So many tests!)

Best Makeup Products for Gyaru! (Gyaru Series Part Two)

Best Makeup Products for Gyaru! (Gyaru Series Part Two)

gyaru pt 2 thumbnail

Hi all and welcome back, or if you’re new here, nice to meet you! I’m so glad you stopped by~

As part two of my gyaru series I wanted to compile a list of some great makeup products that you can get easily online or in store that will have you looking gyaru quicker than you can say kawaii!

I’ll list my favorite products by type so if you’re looking for a specific item you’ll be able to find it super easily!

Face Makeup:

-BB or CC Creams

While I’d say that the Dream BB Cream by Maybelline is pretty accessible in store, I honestly wasn’t too impressed with it. Other good alternatives are the Lebalage BB Cream which can be bought from eBay for about $4.50 at most or a Missha or Etude House product. I’m currently using Lebalage and really like it but I’ve heard great things about Etude House and Missha’s BB creams as well. I also bought my mom the Rivecowe BB Cream from eBay and she loves it!
